LevelX 2026 focuses on strategy, resilience, and the future of Belgium’s digital infrastructure

Brussels, May 2026 – On May 18 and 19, the third edition of LevelX will bring together C-level leaders from across Belgium’s data center and digital infrastructure ecosystem at The Dome in Brussels. The conference, an initiative by the Belgian Digital Infrastructure Association (BDIA), positions itself as a strategic platform for decision-makers from the digital infrastructure industry.

With a strong focus on collaboration and long-term positioning, LevelX provides a content-driven program addressing opportunities and challenges in Belgium’s digital infrastructure landscape.

“Belgium has all the building blocks to play a meaningful role in Europe’s digital future, but alignment between stakeholders is essential,” says Carole Santens, Managing Director of the Belgian Digital Infrastructure Association. “With LevelX, we are creating a platform where industry leaders can come together and have the strategic discussions needed to enable real progress.”

From ambition to execution

Themes like energy, permitting investments and sovereignty form the foundation of the LevelX program. The conference opens with an enticing keynote by Peter Van Hees, followed by a market outlook presentation from Kevin Restivo (CBRE), offering a data-driven perspective on Belgium’s position within the broader European market.

The opening plenary panel, “AI-Ready Data Centers in Belgium: Speed Without Compromise,” sets the tone for the day. Rather than focusing on hype, the discussion centers on how AI is already influencing infrastructure decisions, from design and location to investment strategies.

Strategy, investment and energy in focus

The afternoon program will explore how Belgium positions itself within the European digital infrastructure landscape, including its role as a Tier-2 market and its potential contribution to digital sovereignty. At the same time, speakers will address the financial realities behind this ambition, what makes projects viable, who drives demand, and how both private and public stakeholders can unlock investment.

Energy remains a central theme throughout these conversations. From grid constraints to alternative solutions and long-term capacity planning, the sessions examine how Belgium can enable sustainable growth while remaining competitive in a European context.

Building scalable, future-proof infrastructure

Other sessions focus on the practical and operational side of delivering digital infrastructure. Topics include the growing importance of advanced cooling technologies in response to higher-density workloads, as well as the role of connectivity in supporting AI, cloud, and low-latency applications.

In addition, attention is given to execution: how quickly and reliably projects can be delivered. Permitting, supply chains, energy access, and talent all play a role in determining time to market. An area where predictability is becoming a key differentiator between competing regions.
