Liège-based IT group NRB, whose main shareholder is insurer Ethias, is becoming active in Flanders. The company announced that it has bought a data center in Muizen near Mechelen.
NRB already had interconnected and multi-certified data centers in Herstal and Villers-le-Bouillet in Wallonia, where it stores critical data from hospitals, financial sector companies and other customers, among others. “The center in Flanders meets the growing demand from customers in the capital and the north of the country,” the IT group said.
The Muizen site meets particularly high standards, according to the company. The data center is Tier 3+ certified, ISO 9001, 14001, 20000 and 27001 certified, and guarantees 99.995 percent availability.
Digital Sovereignty
“At NRB, we have always been quick to respond to changes in the market,” said CEO Laurence Mathieu. ‘This new facility is fully in line with our growth trajectory. It strengthens our position as a Belgian player in digital sovereignty and provides a concrete response to our customers’ expectations: local, reliable and immediately operational solutions for hosting their critical data.’
