Rittal, a global player in enclosure technology and IT infrastructure, has upgraded the interior of its robust, compact AX enclosures to protect sensitive IT systems such as servers and switches in demanding industrial environments. The result is the new Rittal AX IT Nano Data Center. The enclosure allows multiple servers to be installed vertically to save space and ensure safety.
The advance of IT technology in industry as a result of data-driven production processes continues unabated. Data centers are moving ever closer to production lines. While data centers are usually located in secure rooms or other protected environments, their use in direct industrial environments is not without its challenges.
Mini data centers in decentralized applications are exposed to harsh influences such as cold or hot temperatures, dust, or moisture. To protect sensitive servers and switches, robust enclosure technology is already well established in the industry, offering a high degree of protection, 19″ installation technology, and numerous climate control options.
Compact and secure
Rittal has now improved its compact AX enclosure to meet precisely these requirements.
“With the new AX IT Nano Data Center, multiple servers can now be installed vertically to save space and then used safely in accordance with strict industry standards such as IP56,” says Koen Van Hende, Product Manager IT Solutions at Rittal. “Because the enclosure is equipped with a 19” mounting frame, installation and access to the servers is easy, despite the compact design.”
Climate control
The compact enclosure is equipped as standard with a pre-mounted fan and filter unit on the door to ensure a comfortable environment for the servers and switches. When higher heat loads need to be dissipated, cooling units from the extensive Rittal range can also be integrated as required.
Two lockable AX security locks at the top and bottom of the door ensure maximum access security. The AX IT Nano Data Center from Rittal is available from stock as a wall-mounted and floor-mounted enclosure in two sizes: 600 x 800 x 400 mm and 600 x 1000 x 400 mm (W x H x D).
